In late May 2017, Harvard Law School and PAX released a report that describes the situation with the health care in Eastern Ukraine affected by the military conflict: “Since the armed conflict in the east of Ukraine began in 2014, the use of explosive weapons in populated areas has adversely affected the region’s health care system. Shelling has directly damaged hospitals, destroyed ambulances, and killed or injured health workers and patients… As a result, the quality, availability, and accessibility of health care – three elements of the right to health – have declined.”
